DAVID
2016 Dreamer

Meet David Anthony, a U.S. Navy Veteran and our Dreamer alumnus who had the opportunity to stay at the beach with his family in 2016, when he was nominated by his daughter, Dawn, We recently caught up with David and his wife Deanna to reminisce about their vacation.
David was thrilled to take this well-deserved break and create lasting memories with his loved ones. With much anticipation, he envisioned the sight of his grandchildren enjoying the warm soft sand, and breathtaking sunsets, knowing that their freedom and happiness were part of the legacy he had contributed to with his years of dedicated service in the U.S. Navy.

The week at the beach was not just a vacation for the Anthony’s; it was a chance to reconnect with family and savor the simple joys of life. The trip initially seemed to present unique challenges for David’s wife, who relied on a wheelchair for mobility. Using a wheelchair on the sandy beaches posed difficulties that required both creativity and support. Thankfully a beach-accessible chair rental offered the chance to reach accessible paths which ensured everyone could fully participate in the vacation.
The Anthony’s were touched by the warm welcome they received at Beachview. The thoughtful gesture came in the form of a welcome basket filled with gift certificates and coupons from local businesses. This unexpected kindness not only lifted their spirits but also provided practical assistance, allowing their family to explore nearby accessible attractions and enjoy local services.

Since their stay at Beachview, further mobility issues have severely affected their ability to travel, so this vacation has become a symbol of appreciation filled with precious memories that linger in their hearts.
Thank you, David and family, for being part of our Beachview Dreams family and for sharing your story with us. A reminder that the journey of resilience begins with cherished celebrations with family and the freedom that David and his fellow veterans had fought to preserve.
